Comments: To the families and loved ones of the soldiers on the Kursk: I have followed this tragedy since first hearing about it on American news. I work for the Medical Examiner of the county in which I live so I deal with death every day. All kinds of death. However, nothing has struck me as hard as what your loved ones must have gone through. I pray that the entire truth is someday found, and that it is shared with the world at least to avoid it ever happening again. I cannot begin to know your pain. My children are alive and well, but I can tell you how very very sorry I am for your grief. May God help you through the times that lay ahead.

Comments: my name is Bob Eno I used to fly P3B aircraft in the Navy. Are job was to find Russian submarines. I think we get our job done well. And we know full well what a loss it is to the family of the man from the Kursk. We have a prayer in United States Navy it is call the Navy hymn. Internal father strong to save Whose arm hath bound the restless wave. Who bid'st the mighty Ocean deep It's own appointed limits keep: O here us when we cry to thee, For those in peril on the sea, But when at length course is run, Our work for home and country done, Of all the souls that flew and sailed, Let not one life in thee be failed, But hear from heaven our sailors cry, And grant eternal life on high. May all our departed shipmakes rest in piece. Bob Eno Retired USN

Comments: KURSK I'm writing this with difficulty, through tearful eyes. After reading the prayers & tributes page. I've never sailed in a submarine, but do understand the isolation of the sea having sailed on its surface. The courage, even in peacetime, displayed by submariners of ALL races leaves me with a sense of admiration. Remember The tragic "Thetis" in Liverpol Bay. What chance do the Russians stand in FAR greater depths? My Grandfather went on sea trials with a submarine, [I'm sorry can't remember its name - it was Barrow built], that had great difficulty regaining the surface - that was enough for him. Best regards to you brave men Spike c/o The Navy Club Barrow Island

Comments: To the brave soldiers of the Kursk who stayed at sea. Thousands lost their lives while serving their countries. America, the UK, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Japan, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. All the great countries which attempted to rule the seas. But each of them failed. None rules the waves, but the eternal God, who created them. I pay my deepest condolence to the wifes, sons and daughters, sisters and brothers, whose beloved husband, son and brother stayed at sea aboard the Russian submarine "Kursk". From my own experience I know that nothing in the world can ease the pain deep inside. Not the warmest words can do. A German rhyme says: "Und wenn Du denkst, es geht nicht mehr, kommt irgendwo ein Lichtlein her." - means: "And when you think there´s no way through - a little light will come to shine for you." Keep your trust in God and freedom. Your beloved ones have mounted the eternal guard under God to guide you safely - until we all will meet again.

Comments: Although I never served in the military, and, God willing, most likely by now at my age never will have to, this is the closest tangible thing I have seen to help in my understanding the camaraderie of those who serve together in military service. Consequently I now have a far better understanding of the significance for those who fought in war together to get back together as a renewal of the close relationships forged under such circumstances. As a result of this memorial, the crew of the Kursk and their families have been in my thoughts and prayers. Despite the tragic nature of this accident, I have personally benefited through a much greater appreciation for those who serve in military duty for their countries. God bless, may they rest in peace and let their families take some solice in the knowledge that so many people from around the world have seen now seen this memorial and signed these Guestbooks as a token of their respect, understanding and sympathy.

Comments: To the brave warriors of the kursk.Once, not so long ago our two nations regarded each other as enemies. To die in the service of your motherland is what some regard as a great honour, but to die needlessly is a waste of brave men.The sinking of the kursk was an accident that every service man in the world feels.I myself am a fighting man,i am privleged to live in the air and die by fire, submariners live&die in the dark of the oceans.no man should endure such a fate.my heartfelt sympathies go out to the famalies of those who died on the kursk.the prayers of the Royal Air Force are with you. may they rest in peace.

Comments: Dear Friends Submariners - Brothers of the deep ! Thank you ever so much for signing of the guestbook and expressing your condolences regarding our submarine Kursk accident. On the 20th of September, 2000 there was the 40th day of the death of the crew of the nuclear submarine Kursk. According to the Russian Orthodox Church worship soul flies to the Heaven on the 40th day after man's death. Let's pray for the brave Navy men souls who were lost in the tragic submarine disaster. May God bless their souls. It is obvious that submariners are special people and signify the best our nations have to give. Let us hope that future such accidents can be avoided by all the Navies. With all my best wishes to all members of undersea fraternity all over the world, I remain, Respectfully, Nikolay Captain rt. of the Submarine Service of the Russian Navy, Delta III and IV class submarines. P.S. If you have any comments, don't hesitate to send them to me so that I'm able to place them at the Russian Submarine Fleet web-site and share them with navy friends & families.

Comments: Even though I live in Canada, I am grieving along with all who have lost a loved one to this tragic accident. Even though I do not know you and you don't know me, we are one...in the human race. When I heard about this accident, I cried as I'm sure many others have. I'm doing a project at school on this tragedy,(I'm in grade 11), and I will definately make sure that I tell them about this place to offer condolences. My little message here may not be that significant, but I wanted EVERYONE who has been a part of this to know that I care about everyone of you...whoever you are. My prayers are with you and your families as you grieve for the ones you have lost. Whoever you have lost, be it a father, grandfather, brother, cousin...whoever, I know that they will always be with you, watching over you as your guardian angels. As for your president, well...let's just say that he's not much of a human is he??? Hugs, Kisses, Love and prayers.... -Desiree

If the cold war is really over..why must we continue to maintain these massive military machines and practice wartime manuevers? There are many answers....not one of them worth a human life. May the crew of the Kursk rest in peace.

Comments: I am a medium, I believe, Polyanskij came through... According to the message he was born in Riga, Latvia, moved to Murmansk. I received a long message in Russian to his mother and girl friend. If someone can put me in touch with his mother, I would like to talk to her. The message is about life eternal, love and forgiveness. He brings some details to help to recognize him. My Internet computer still doesn't have Russian characters. If someone will e-mail me Polyanski mother's phone, I will call her immediately. If she wants to hear the message, I will mail it to her or find a way to post it to some of their sites in Russian. I know most poeple don't believe in this, this is why I ask to keep this note in private until I have a chance to contact the mother. If she recognizes the message, it may be posted in open. About myself, I am 66 yerars old, I have written a book about becoming a medium and my experiences. (Available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon). In present case I would love to help. The message was recorded, and I did transcribe it. If it will be posted my name wouldn't be importnat. And I don't expect any fee for it. In mediumship, the hardest part is to get names right. Even on a phone conversation we may ask repeat names many times. Polskih or Polyanski, mother Maria, girlfriend Nadyusha... Does it make any sense to someone? Born in Riga, moved to Murmansk. Mother has a little dog Siska. There are more details. If the owner of this site will contact me, it will be appreciated. It was quite a job to transcribe this message. Tatyana Elmanovich

Comments: My prayers are with the families of the men who died serving their country. My husband was in the United States Navy for ten years and what happened to those men was often my worst fear while my husband was underway. Take comfort in knowing that God never allows his children to suffer and that they will always be with us forever.
