Please relieve them in their great agony and pain. Be with the men in the Kursk. Be their mother and father and comfort them. Give them strenght to hold on. Please support them through this difficult time and let them be saved. My thoughts are with their families also: Give those mothers, fathers, siblings, wifes, children, friends and relatives comfort and aid. Walk with them, Lord, because you are much needed here. You are strong, Lord, and You have the power to help those out to salvage the men in the Kursk. Let their efforts be not in vain. Ahmen! I know the feeling that sweeps over a community awaiting news about a sunken submarine. Parents of high school classmates working at the local Naval Shipyard were lost aboard the US nuclear submarine "Thresher" in the early sixties. Mysteries of the sea remind me of an old Irish sailor's prayer: "Oh, Lord, the Ocean is so great and my boat is so small." May fair winds and following seas speed homeward all hands aboard Kursk and the rescue craft. |

You are the only one that knows the condition of the men trapped within. If there are still men alive. Dear Lord, please keep Your hand on them, provide the air they need to breath, the strengh they need to hold on, and the power of your spirit working on them that they will call upon you for the peace only You can provide. I would also ask that you be with the families and loved ones of those trapped men. Lord may they call upon you for comfort and strengh, and that you would engulf them with your peace. I pray too Lord that you will be in charge of the rescue mission---guide the thoughts and hands of those involved---show them the right way to go about this rescue. I thank You that You hear our prayers and for your love in the name of Your holy Son, my Saviour, Jesus Amen |

It is a wonderful thing to see peoples from all over the world caring for those trapped below the sea. Is there any way that the prayers can be translatted into Russian and sent to the families of the crew? What a wonderful message to send to the politicians of the world that in spite of their political asperations, the people of the world are ONE. The welfare of the crewhave has been in my mind and prayers since I heard the news. From one retired submariner to all that go down to the sea in ships, GOD SPEED, |

Let hope not wither on the vine Of sorrow and despair, Remember God knows everyting And He is everywhere. However dark the day may seem Or frightening the night, All troubles fade and disappear And life turns out all right Provided you maintain your faith And do not yeild to fear The while you pray for courage with A heart that is sincere Resign yourself most humbly now to do God's holy will and he will surely bless you and Your least request fulfill."
