I also pray for the rescue efforts that are happening that things will work out and that the sub and then men can be brought up to the surface. Comments: I spent 10 years as a submariner in the USN. I am now in the Naval Reserve, I got off active duty in November 99. One of the main reasons I got off was because I had kids while on shore duty and didn't want to take the risk any longer. Once a submariner always a submariner at heart and my prayers go out to my shipmates on the Kursk. My heart and prayers espeially go out to the families of the men. I know all submariners everywhere are praying for there safe return. This hits close to home for a submariner. "God watch over, be with, and comfort them and their families and bring them home safely. In Jesus name we pray."

I to am a submariner and have been for several years and it is a fear that we live with each time that we sail from our friends and families, that is why Sir Winston Churchill said of submariners that "Great deeds are done in the air and on the land, nevertheless there is no part to be compared to your exploits." I still believe that this still rings true to this day. My prayers & thoughts are with you now, best of luck and may your gods be looking after your loved ones. derek.jenkinson@btinternet.co.uk

For the men on board I say a prayer of "God Speed" and for the families left behind I wish for them a measure of comfort and support from the tremendous outpouring of sympathy from around the world. These men will not be forgotten. Reading the emails helped. Thanks for the site to express our thoughts.

Comments: I ask all to spend a moment to ask God for deliverance of these men from the depths. Their death will not be valiant nor for their country as it is a tragedy of epic proportions as the global technology exists to prevent a terrible waste of life. God, please let the Russian Navy find a way to save their lives and if not, let the Russians know the U.S. Navy has a DSRV and a crew of men trained for this that can try and help. God, please let the Russians know this is not an act that will cause a loss of face for the Russians but rather save the brave valiant men aboard that sub in a desperate hour of need. I beg you to intervene and save them and us all, in a sense of building a new global community of people that care for another beyond politics and pride. Please save them all.
